KESST along with Kushalnagar Ex-Servicemen Association organised the 2nd State Level Cross Country Race at Kushalnagar on 19 November 2023. The 1st Edition of the run was conducted on 10 October 2021. A total of 144 youth participated as under:
Girls - 5 km with 59 girls participating. Chaitra, a student of Alva’s College, came first with a time of 17 minutes retaining the first prize of the 1st edition.
Boys - 85 boys ran 7.5 km. Rahul, a student of Sports Hostel, Mysore, came first with a time of 23 minutes.
Prizes were distributed with the first prize of Rs.10,000/- for the 7.5km and Rs.6,000/- for the 5 km run.

The book "Kodavas...Passion for Uniform" containing biodatas of senior Kodava military officers and gallantry awardees was presented to the guest and beneficiaries.

Mrs. Lalita Rao from Mysore heard about KESST from her neighbour, Parvathy Monnaiah Pandiyanda mother of Suraj Machaiah (trustee), and was so appreciative of the work they were doing that she decided to dip into her savings and donate Rs. 15,000/- to the Trust.
Mrs. Lalita Rao at 91 years is still very active. She is a housewife. Her husband, Late Shri MN Suryanarayan Rao, was Chief Superintending Geophysicist Western Region with ONGC. She has two daughters who are currently based in Pune and Bangalore.
As part of Synopsys' CSR activities and scientific outreach to rural communities and inculcate scientific thinking in the students it brought ‘Tare Zamin Par’, a NGO, with a mobile planetarium (black dome-shaped structure in the background of the photo) to Kodagu. In addition, science kits were distributed to students (class-wise) and an instructor explained and demonstrated the use of the kits. KESST facilitated visits of the program to six schools, two each in Murnad, Virajpet, and Ponnampet, from 4-6 Jan 2022. Nearly 1000 children went through the program.

Kodagu Educational and Social Service Trust (KESST) along with Kushalnagar Ex-servicemen Association organized State Level Cross Country Race on 10 October 2021 at Kushalnagar (Kodagu). The run was organized to prepare eligible boys and girls to join defence forces.
35 girls ran 5.2 kms with Chaitra securing the first position with a timing of 23.39 minutes and 145 boys ran 8.2 kms with Bhim Shankar securing the first position with a timing 0f 25.55 minutes.
Army Veteran AR Janardhana (18 Madras), ably assisted by Army veterans; Subedar K.G Somanna (18 Madras), International shooter and Coach Honorary AC Capt Subbaiah (28 Mardas), Honorary Captain PR Muthanna (3 Madras) and B Ganesh Singh (18 Madras), were the main organizers. Shri Satish of Kaveri Textiles and Head of Kushalnagar Red Cross and Dr Chethan Taluk Medical Officer ensured medical cover for the event.
The first six positions in both categories received cash awards, totaling 31,000/- from KESST. Subedar K G Somanna ( Retd) gave cash awards of Rs 400/- each to the boy and girl securing the seventh position.
KESST responded to the need of the hour during the COVID-19 second surge and consequent state-wide lockdown in May-June 2021 by distributing over 200 free food kits and other COVID safety materials comprising PPE, masks etc. for a total cost of Rs 2,62,473/-. The beneficiaries included COVID Warrior volunteers performing the last rites of COVID fatal cases, working in PHC, Asha workers, and teaching and non-teaching staff of schools.

KESST scheduled a Free Coaching Residential Camp for Army Jawan recruitment from 7th April to 30 April 2021 at Virajpet in preparation for the Army (Male) Recruitment Rally scheduled at Kolar 7-12 May 2021. 24 male aspirants and one female aspirant attended the camp.
Out of these nine aspirants availed the free accommodation that was offered. Due to the second wave of Covid, the camp was truncated on 22 April 2021, and around the same time the Army announced that the Kolar Rally was postponed indefinitely due to the second wave of COVID.
A total of Rs. 1.18 lakhs was spent on the camp towards accommodation, diet, and payment to the teachers/coaches. It is planned to organize a Free Coaching Residential Camp for Army Jawan recruitment once the dates for the next Army Recruitment Rally are made public.
